MONASTIC CAROB SYRUP
The Cretan Orthodox Christian priest, Father Leonidas Iliakis is famous, here in Greece, for his raw and cold pressed Carob syrup quality.
Carob as a sweetener has super qualities and at the same time does not increase the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients.
Father Leonidas Iliakis is also famous in Greece for the beneficial historic formula of a mixture of its Monastic aloe vera with carob syrup instead of honey.
CAROB SYRUP BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES
The raw, unheated carobsyrop is full of sugars (sucrose and glucose), therefore it gives immediate energy and proteins to the body (5-8%). Does not increase the blood sugal level !
It contains almost no fats (0.2-0.6%) and is very rich in fiber (40%), which helps smooth bowel function and reduce “bad” cholesterol (LDL).
It is digestible and does not contain gluten, which makes it suitable for people suffering from celiac disease (gluten intolerance).
It contains vitamin A, B complex vitamins and trace elements (potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, zinc). It is worth mentioning that it is an excellent source of calcium, since in a quantity of 100 grams it offers 348 milligrams of calcium, equal to 35 per cent of the HPP, or more simply, with 130 grams of almonds or 6 grams of almonds & Parmesan.
It helps in problems with reduced libido, as well as acts against the reduction of sperm count.
It is used to help treat bronchial asthma and cough as it nourishes and dries the lungs. It is recommended for adults and children, especially if they suffer from pertussis.
Because of the high amount of fiber contained in its fruit, carob helps digestion.

In addition, blended carob syrup in milk is a natural anti-diarrheal medicine for infants.
It is used to treat and prevent animal diarrhea and dysentery in humans.
